Stakeholder Engagement

Due to the multiple stakeholder map we operate with, specific stakeholder engagement plans can enhance projects that are already executing external communications plans. This is especially true when there is change in the way our organisations deliver services, or when our organisations themselves change.
Mergers of healthcare services and providers often occur in the healthcare sector. New elections often bring new agendas to local government that have to be managed with its other priorities.
Specific stakeholder engagement plans need to be researched, segmented and targeted to ensure that the needs of the stakeholder are fully understood and that effective ways are used in communicating with them. Too often some groups of stakeholders are treated as pacifist recipients of general communications in order to place a tick or statistic in a report.
Stakeholder communications and social marketing should be approached in similar ways, as there is a need to fully understand the needs and motivations of the person through research and analysis. The stakeholder then needs to be segmented and targeted in order to deliver the communications effectively. Stakeholder communications should be monitored and measured to ensure progress against agreed metrics.
