A market situation analysis, or the information required for one is vital to understand the market you are operating in. A thorough understanding of your organisations strengths and weaknesses matched against the potential opportunities and threats facing the organisation must be in place. Occasionally extensive research may be required of particular stakeholders groups to ensure your strategy is not based on assumption.
Such an analysis can be taken at an organisation wide level, or more likely a particular service i.e. clinical, service or educational stream. Such an analysis will enable us to build a marketing strategy based on sound information making the likelihood of a successful strategy much greater.
The information from such an analysis can be used to inform the process of positioning and segmentation as well as brand strategy.
