Communications
In January 2009 the NHS Constitution was published, and stated that not only should patients be given a choice at the point of referral, they should also be given relevant information to inform their choice. Portals such as 'NHS Choice' provide a good service, however it is up to the service provider, with in depth knowledge of its offering, to ensure that its doctors and patients are well informed and supported.  Communications is essential to ensure all stakeholders, both internal and external are well informed. Good communications is not just about what you say, but how it is said and to who.

There are enormous pressures on NHS Trusts from external stakeholders and inevitably there is much to communicate. K&M understand how the NHS works and what pressures Trust’s are facing. We can help you to develop and implement strategic communications for your organisation, that matches your corporate objectives and meets your stakeholder requirements. With our knowledge and expertise in the NHS we can help you to understand what needs to be said, to who, and how.

Your communications strategies should be based on evidence based research and organisation-wide knowledge about your stakeholder groups. Consider what they want to know, balanced with what you wish to inform them of. A key consideration should also be how they wish to be informed, not the easiest or cheapest way to inform them.
